More Over Led Zep Here Are Bash’s Kellys Heroes
Next up on the blog we caught up with Baxenden’s finest Kellys Heroes. The band first came to our attention as part of the Reidys Exposure competition and we’re delighted to be able to have them on the bill for moofest 2016. The band describe themselves as a 4 piece rock band who love playing music and love people who love music! Read on to find out more:
Who’s in the band and what do they play?
Eoin Kelly – guitar, vocals, harmonica
Michael Eastwood – guitar, vocals
Louis Green – drums, vocals
Matt Whittingham – bass, vocals
What inspired you to make music together?
The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix etc etc. Sounds of the 60s and 70s classic rock.
How has your music evolved since you first began playing music together?
We are all better players than when we started. With the experience of three year we are a lot more confident and are able to talk and have a laugh with the audience
What did you have for breakfast this morning?
On the day of the festival we will have/had pilchards on toast along with a cup of Douwe Egberts coffee.
What’s your favourite breakfast cereal?
Special K, cornflakes
What’s the worst job you ever had?
Im not too sure. Weve all kinda been in full education.
What would you do if you were invisible for a day?
We would all haunt our mums and dads
What’s your favourite ride at the fair?
Tea cup ride
Have you ever milked a cow?
No!! Michael Eastwood has milked many.
What’s your favourite cheese?
Stilton, stinking bishop, cheese strings
What’s your favourite sandwich?
Cucumber sandwhich, ploughmans, BLT, egg
Did you have a nickname at school?
Obo (eoin kelly),

Have you ever written a fan letter?
Yes, to santa claus!
What’s your most disgusting habit?
We are perfect!!!
If you were a domestic appliance what would it be? Eoin Kelly = lamp
Matt Wiggy = extension cable
Michael Eastwood = hoover

Can you think of a good poem about moofest?
Moofest has many udders.
I own a boat with many rudders.

What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?
Just go for it and keep trying to gig everywhere you can. Keep songwriting, keep learning, dont be narrowminded, be nice and make friends and have fun.
