Welcome to moofest’s youngest performer 3DEE. 3DEE played at moofest last year and produced an absolute stomping set that defied his years. Following on from such antics and a clamour from last years performers and moofesters to get him back on again, we did so! Ladies and Gents meet 3DEE:

Who are you and what do you play?

I’m Dylan (aka 3DEE), I’m 14 and I’m a DJ/Producer/Singer.

What inspired you to make music?

I’ve loved music since I was a little kid. Apparently I completely wrecked my parents records because I loved them that much, haha. I got into electronic from when I was about 12 or 13, and that got me into producing music.

How has your music evolved since you first began playing music?

I guess it’s the fact that it’s become electronic as it was playing piano at first. In terms of when I started 3DEE, I’ve used lots of different types of software and have explored in my sound and I’ve been trying to find who I am as an artist.

What did you have for breakfast this morning?

Weetabix Minis & Toast and Nutella. Mmmmmmmm, Nutella.

What’s your favourite breakfast cereal?

Weetabix Minis all the way.

What’s the worst job you ever had?

Doing the chores.

What would you do if you were invisible for a day?

Sneak into the Monstercat HQ before my powers end so I can turn up and be like “can I be part of the label” haha

What’s your favourite ride at the fair?

Defiantly has to be the bumper cars.

Have you ever milked a cow?

I haven’t, but I would love to try…….. And then possibly fail.

What’s your favourite cheese?

Parmazan is my favourite, but I like any that doesn’t have mould in it.

What’s your favourite sandwich?

Cheese and bacon toastie… *makes toastie*

Did you have a nickname at school?

Nope, I don’t remember having one.

Have you ever written a fan letter before?

Does posting on your favourite artists Facebook page count? If so, yes.

What’s your most disgusting habit?

Picking my nails. I should stop but I let myself just do one more…

If you were a domestic appliance what would it be?

An oven. Because it’s like my mixtape.

What’s your favourite word?

Phenomenon

Can you think of a good poem about moofest?

I blame writers block for this being blank.

Tell us a joke?

How did Harry Potter get down the hill?
He walked. J.K. Rowling.

What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?

Be creative! Try different chord patterns and different notes when writing and mix things up. Add loads of harmonies to those melodies, add some drums, piano, guitar etc. And experiment with what you get! Oh and of course, if you feel like you’re not good, do NOT give up! Ever!

How can the moofesters get hold of your music?

You can go listen to all my music on YouTube, Soundcloud (where you can also find some of my favourite songs) and Mixcloud . Plus you can check out my Facebook and Instagram for updates and some awesome photos. Well, I think they’re awesome at least.

Any last words?

More coming soon, for sure. I’ll be showing off some WIPs (work in progress) in my set which I hope will be part of a potential EP or LP. I’ve got a few collabs in the works with some of my friends too! So stay tuned!

Thanks 3DEE for taking the time to talk to us and we can’t wait to hear you at moofest again this year. 3DEE appears on the Sunbird Records stage on 09th July. To book your tickets click here.
