Introducing Sean McGinty

Here at moofest HQ we have always been really well supported by BBC Radio Lancashire’s Sean McGinty who presents BBC Introducing amongst other programmes. We have put together a little article about it and why it is so important to up and coming bands, read on.

Sean started supporting local music on Radio Lancashire way back in 2003 with a show BRYAN and this eventually came under the BBC Introducing umbrella when the BBC brought all of their supporters of unsigned music together under one brand to nurture and give great exposure to the freshest artists across the UK and here in Lancashire.

Sean says of presenting BBC Introducing “it is like a dream. I’ve always loved listening to new music and radio so when you add to that a little community and social media work I could not have designed a more perfect role for myself.”

Every summer, you’ll find the BBC Introducing stage at major events and festivals like Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, T in the Park and Radio 1’s Big Weekend. If your really lucky the BBC also invite the very best new acts to record sessions at the BBC’s world famous Maida Vale studios, many of which are filmed or recorded and made available online. BBC Radio Lancashire themselves hold a monthly gig at The Ferret in Preston and regularly feature interviews with bands, promoters, venues etc.

At moofest we can’t thank Sean enough for his support of local bands and music over the past few years. It is such as important thing that people like him give artists the opportunity to put out their music and hard work and also discuss it and perform it to like minded people.

To have your music considered for BBC Introducing get over to the uploader and send them some of your music.
