We’re absolutely thrilled that Rime Suspex are playing moofest this year and it looks like it will an exciting performance as Rory, Miranda and Rob are now backed by a full band. This will be one of the first times that they have performed around these parts with this format, so we caught up with Rory to find out more;

Who’s in the band and what do they play?

Miranda – Vocals (Singer)
Rob – Vocals (Rapper)
Rory – Guitar
Jamie – Guitar
Bruce – Bass
Sam – Keys
Chris – Drums

What inspired you to make music together?

We enjoyed jamming together and it just developed naturally from there.

How has your music evolved since you first began playing music together?

Well the band has grown from a 3 piece to a 7 piece. That allows us to do a lot more with the live sound and the additional ideas have made our sound a lot more eclectic.

What did you have for breakfast this morning?

Cookie Crisp. I don’t really like it but a massive box was 50p because it was a bit damaged.

What’s your favourite breakfast cereal?

Crunchy nut clusters with chocolate bits.

What’s the worst job you ever had?

Waiting tables and bar work. I don’t have the temperament to be servile.

What would you do if you were invisible for a day?

Play a gig. It’d really freak people out to see a floating guitar playing itself.

What’s your favourite ride at the fair?

Not the waltzers. I once felt sick for days after coming off one of them.

Have you ever milked a cow?

No.

What’s your favourite cheese?

Mozzarella

What’s your favourite sandwich?

Veggie Patty from Subway with every kind of vegetable and southwest sauce.

Did you have a nickname at school?

My mates did call me GAB. The G stands for ginger and the B standards for beard. See if you can guess what the A stood for.

Have you ever written a fan letter?

When I was about 8-9 I wrote one to Shaggy. No reply.

What’s your most disgusting habit?

Not answering awkward questions.

If you were a domestic appliance what would it be?

A toaster. If I get in the bath with you, you know you’re in trouble.

What’s your favourite word?

It changes daily. At the most it is Sonder – which is the realisation that each person you see on the street has a life as vivid and complex as your’s.

Can you think of a good poem about moofest?

I’ve never been before so I’m afraid anything I did write would very likely be unrepresentative of the experience.

Tell us a joke?

Not all math puns are bad.
Just sum.

What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?
Be yourselves and think outside the box, no band ever became great by copying someone else.

How can the moofesters get hold of your music?

Youtube, Soundcloud, Bandcamp

Any last words?

Thanks for having us on and we look forward to playing at Moofest
